I just got back from Northern New Mexico, and toured Taos and Santa Fe, and was absolutely overwhelmed by the designer clothes they sell in their boutique shops. The clothes are amazing, and many of them were hand crafted, particularly the knit items that carry a very hefty price tag. Some of these designer clothes were stunning, and while I did not buy any, because designer clothes are not my style, but I had to admire these clothes for their stunning designs and colors.
I think that people make statements about themselves by what they wear, and I am not a flashy person, so my wardrobe is absent of designer clothes that are colorful and unusual. I stick to pretty simple, classic styles, and while there are a few manufacturers of expensive designer clothes in these subdued styles, most designer styles are much flashier than what I would ever consider wearing. For people who enjoy dressing up, however, these shops in Northern New Mexico have tons of gorgeous designer clothes, and some of them were on sale.
