designer clothesSome people are of the opinion that those who insist on wearing designer clothes are snobs. In a way, I can understand this attitude. After all, clothes do not make the man and nothing is more important then being a decent person. However, I must admit that designer clothes do give a favorable impression. I recently found an old school friend of mine on Facebook. In his profile picture he is wearing a sharp designer suit. I don’t consider myself to be an elitist, but on some level the fact that my friend was wearing attractive designer clothes impressed me. I hate to admit it, but if my friend had looked as though he didn’t take care of himself, I would have been less inclined to email him and say hello. Designer clothes show that a person has self respect and cares about the impression he makes on other people. By contrast, dirty disheveled clothes give other people the impression that you don’t think much of yourself. If you don’t care about yourself, people get the idea that you cannot care too much for others.
