designer clothesHow important are designer clothes to you? The answer to that question probably depends on who you are and what you do for a living. For me the importance of designer clothes very much depends on the situation. If I am going to the store for some milk or working from home on my computer then I do not bother with designer clothes or even brand names.  However if I have an important event to attend such as a wedding or formal appointment then I wear designer clothes because I want to look my best.
Actually I went out and bought some designer clothes for a reunion I have organized with family and friends when I return to my native country of Britain for a short break next week. I had my hair cut and colored and bought new makeup too. The reason I bought designer clothes and gave myself a makeover for this event is because I want the people I haven’t seen in a while to think I look good. The idea of friends and family thinking I have let myself go since I moved to the United States is not one I am comfortable with. The truth is that there are occasions when I will wear designer clothes in order to enhance my self-esteem, and I don’t think that there is anything at all wrong with that.
